THE GREEN, HOSPITALITY PRECINCT AT CENTRAL PARK

completed 2021

Our client Oyster Property Group had a vision to transform Central Park, a dated business park predominantly developed in the 1980’s, from a collection of offices and carpark buildings with sporadic pedestrian amenity into a modern office precinct with a social hub at its centre, offering hospitality & landscaped amenity for tenants & visitors alike.  We developed that vision into The Green, providing quality landscaped spaces for socialising & hosting events, with a range of food & beverage offerings.

This project involved the extensive re-use of existing structures, including the strengthening & repurposing of an existing carpark building with new surface finishes providing an interlaced paved/turf/deck pedestrian plaza space which spills down new public steps offering strong pedestrian connections to Central Park & the nearby train station.  The existing perimeter carpark barriers were transformed into raised planter troughs offering soft landscaping along the building’s edge, combining with extensive new planting beds and trees to form a park-like environment.  Building 10 was completely stripped out at ground level, split into new food & beverage tenancies, with perimeter joinery added right around providing strong connections to the new surrounding landscaped spaces.  Covered seating areas extend out from these tenancies, with a number of additional shade structures providing covered seating areas around the plaza.  Existing roadways were re-paved creating shared pedestrian/vehicle zones, extending the pedestrian amenity beyond The Green for stronger connections to the surrounding Central Park environment.

Additional features include a kids’ play zone, BBQ area and an outdoor LED screen space, as well as E-bike charging stations.
